Amazing discovery: 'hatchling' causing 'traffic accident'

The room)-poor orientation ability makes regular sperm causing "traffic accident" when moving to the eggs.

Until recently, the doctors cannot yet explain why only about 1% of 300 million sperm that men make in a relationship can swim to the uterus of women and only a few dozen of the sperm meet the egg. But the British scientists said they have found the answer to this problem.

According to research by the University of Warwick and Birmingham, causing too little sperm can swim to the uterus is due to them being disoriented during swimming in the vagina and cervix. This makes regular sperm crashing into each other in the process of moving.

The research group has conducted the experiment by putting the sperm in a tiny pipe to track how the reaction to sperm in a limited space. The results, they found that the sudden bend makes regular sperm collided or on the tube by not promptly turn.

The scientists also found that sperm tend to avoid swimming in the ' lanes ', instead, they are crawling along the pipe's.

"I cannot resist laughing when I first saw the sperm constantly missed the break in the bend fold and plunge head on into the tube opposite," Dr. Peter Denissenko, the team members from the University of Warwick said.

The sperm swim to the egg success is likely the best direction in the pipe is composed of complex, multiple bend and filled with mucus.

Combined with the previous research on the factors affecting the sperm's swimming ability, Dr. Peter Denissenko and believe that their research will be the basis for developing a method of selection the healthy sperm used in infertility treatment.
