The girl was born with a tail that was 16cm long

On May 30, a baby girl was born with a 16cm long tail in Noakhali district, Bangladesh. The Israeli surgeon Nazrul Islam Akash, currently working at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), is the one who directly removed the "tail" for that girl. The surgery is performed when the baby is 14 days old.

This baby girl is the second child of a family from Saudi Arabia. Her mother is currently a housewife who lives in Noakhali district.

Akash Nazrul Islam said: "The danger level of this malformation is not as high as its rarity. It is a tail but there is no nerve, bone and is not connected to the spinal cord. Tail "You have two types: fake tail and real tail. It's a real tail (similar to an extra finger). It doesn't put your body in danger."

Causes of deformities

The risk of neural tube defects can all come from diet before and during pregnancy, specifically as follows:

Environmental and lifestyle factors : According to research experts, the environmental and lifestyle factors of pregnant women are also one of the causes of quite high birth defects. If a mother regularly drank tobacco, she would be more susceptible to birth defects.
