Only in 2013, the producers, the dairy business has spent more than 35 million for the advertising products to children under age 5 and became one of the five largest advertising industry in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the number of children under 6 months of age fed entirely by breast milk only 19.6% while the number of children with malnutrition can low whistle again contribute up to 1/3. The ratio of young to eat powdered milk replaces breast milk and feed supplements before 6 months are growing trends.

01. 8. by 2014, the Ministry of health in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Alive project (A&T), Thrive & organized response to the activities of the world week of breastfeeding mothers in 2014. With the theme "mother's milk-priceless gift for life!", this year's activities focus on raising awareness of the importance of breast milk and called together community health sector to promote activities aimed at the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding by the breast milk.

Deputy Minister of health, ASSOC. TS. Nguyen Viet Tien share: "breast milk is the invaluable gift for life. Breastfeeding mother could save 1.3 million children under age 5 worldwide every year. To strengthen the practice of breastfeeding mothers, the most important thing is that we must create an environment of support and protection for mothers and children to ensure children are raised completely by mother's milk in the first six months of life. We need to continue our commitment to protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding by helping for mothers, families and communities understand the benefits of breastfeeding mothers as well as the risk of fostering natural deficiency ".

"The world week of breastfeeding mom this year is an occasion for people to see the relationship between the breastfeeding mother with achieving as well as maintaining the achievements during the 14 years of implementing the Millennium goals," said Roger Mathisen, Chief of UNICEF's nutrition program in Vietnam. "Through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding mothers, I believe that all of us can contribute actively to the successful implementation of the Millennium Goals".

The revised labour law and advertising Law in effect from 2013 has created a solid legal framework to support, protect and promote breastfeeding mother in Vietnam.

"Each and all of us are to play a role of utmost importance contributing to building an environment to support breastfeeding mothers. The burden should not only set up the role of women, who are keeping this invaluable gift of life. Mothers need policy makers devise a legal framework protecting the breastfeeding mother and enforce it effectively, they need the medical staff provided accurate information and timely support, they need the understanding and assistance of the host employers and colleagues at work and, they need love, care, encouragement and promotion of the family and friends to complete can optimal parenting by the mother's milk "-Ms. Nemat Hajeebhoy, National Director, project Alive in Vietnam Thrive & speech.

Rights Chief Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) said Jeffery Kobza, said "scientific evidence indicates that optimal nutrition is an important thing to ensure when raised will be learning more, work more efficiently and achieve maximum height when mature. When children are provided the full nutrition source, i.e. the community also get rid of poverty ".
