According to Dr. Maguire in the Hospital St. Michael, Toronto, "one of the frequent questions from the parents is the child should drink how much milk is enough. And the amazing thing is that even the doctor of Pediatrics also can not give satisfactory answers ".

Milk good for health.

We all know the vitamin D supplements for children with milk, a type of vitamin is mainly absorbed through the Sun, however older drinking too much milk will suffer from iron deficiency. So, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends children should only drink from 2-3 glasses of milk a day (about 500-700 milliliters).

Dr Maguire and colleagues have conducted observation 1300 young from 2-5 years, they studied the time outdoors, skin color (the boy has dark skin difficult to absorb vitamin D through sunlight than), index (BMI) body, and whether the baby has milk Binh or not because when milk Binh will be filled again. The results of blood tests showed vitamin D of the baby to drink more milk increases, however the amount of iron in the body.

APP suggestions infants need 400 units of vitamin D (10 μg) per day, with older adults, and large amount of vitamin D needed is 800 units of vitamin D (about 20mcg) every day. Children under 12 months of age is recommended should not drink cow's milk.

Children should only drink 2 glasses of milk a day.

Professor Maguire said: "Vitamin D reduces risk of osteopenia for children, iron deficiency is the cause of anemia and slow the process of intellectual development."

According to the calculations of the experts, 2 cups milk a day would help balance the vitamin D and iron needed for the body. With the older dark skin, do not absorb more vitamin D from the Sun in the winter, you should be drinking vitamin D under the guidance of a doctor.  Normal kids just need vitamin D supplements by the food and the Sun is enough.
