If you see your child breathing like this, take him to the hospital immediately

Around September 2018, Charlie O'Brien, a British announcer and life coach, shared a video about her daughter Luna breathing irregularly while sleeping. At that time, Luna was only 4 weeks old. So far, this video has reached 2.4 million views with more than 34 thousand shares on Facebook.

Charlie shared: "She has a very quiet and almost sleepless day. I watched as she slept next to me and realized it had something wrong."

After that, Charlie took off her daughter's shirt to check and found her breathing very difficult, her chest tightening to the depths of each breath.

When you see your child breathing like this, take him to the hospital immediately.

Soon after, Charlie took Luna to the hospital. Here, the doctor diagnosed her with bronchiolitis and had low blood oxygen levels.

Due to being taken to the hospital in time, Luna's health quickly recovered.

Charlie shares his story on social media as a warning to parents who must keep an eye on their unusual expressions. When you see a problem with your child, you need to go to the hospital immediately, avoid the unfortunate situation.

Bronchitis is one of the most common respiratory diseases in young children. The disease usually occurs in children under 2 years of age, especially children in the age of 3-6 months, premature babies or heart or lung disease.

The cause of bronchiolitis is caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

The disease can occur year-round but is most common when weather changes, when it gets cold: In the rainy season in the southern provinces or winter in the northern provinces.

Early symptoms of bronchiolitis are similar to the common cold: runny nose, stuffy nose, cough and sometimes a mild fever. Then it progresses to a dry cough and wheezing.

As the disease progresses, children may have high fever, breast-feeding, cyanosis, signs of rapid breathing, recessing the chest, swollen nose, purple body.

Early detection of disease and timely treatment of the disease will be within 7-10 days. Late diagnosis can make the illness worse, causing dangerous complications such as respiratory failure, even death.

Most children with bronchiolitis can be completely treated outpatient. During the treatment process, parents should keep the child drinking enough water to dilute the sputum, relieve the cough. Cleaning the nose and throat for children with physiological saline helps children breathe more and eat / eat better.

Continuing to breastfeed, it can be divided into several feeds. For older children, pay attention to the full complement of nutrients in the child's meal, break down the meal so that the child is easily absorbed.

Do not expose children to cigarette smoke because cigarette smoke can make children worse and more likely to develop asthma later.

Take the medicine on time and in sufficient doses as directed by your doctor. Need to re-examine on time.

Currently, specific preventive drugs are still very expensive, uncommon in the world and not yet available in Vietnam, so prevention measures are both effective and simple:

- Wash your hands well before and after taking care of your child to avoid spreading the virus.

- Avoid giving children close contact with older children, adults who are suffering from colds as well as other sick children.

- In addition, flu vaccination is also one of the best protection measures for children.
