The 10-year-old is squinting because she plays a phone 10 hours a day

Recently, Oriental Daily reported, a boy about 9-10 years old in Hefei City, China, was squinted after playing games on the phone 10 hours a day during summer vacation.

My father told me, because he was too busy to have much time to play with his children. She used to pick up her phone and play games. During the summer vacation, the child plays an average of 10 hours a day. Whenever asked to stop playing, the boy often frowned, annoyed, even shouted.

However, after the summer holidays, the father realized his son had been . strabismus.

When taking children to the hospital, doctors advised him to stop playing the phone for a short time. However, the boy is so addicted to the game that he answers the doctor that he "cannot stop playing".

According to doctors at Hefei City Hospital, when children are exposed to technology equipment too early, their eyeballs will be inhibited, negatively affecting the ability of the cornea to concentrate and vitreous lenses lead to myopia and eye problems, such as being strabismus like the aforementioned boy.

This is not the first time to warn parents about the consequences of having children watch too many phones and tablets. There have been similar cases in Vietnam.

In 2017, a mother in Kien Giang posted a post on social media about her wrong behavior when she comforted her with a smartphone. Her son is a very active and mischievous boy. Every time I cried or broke, my sister would watch cartoons on the phone or play games.

This happens regularly since she was only about 2 years old until 4 years old.

During about 2 years she did not detect any unusual manifestations of her child. However, by the middle of 2017, she found that her son had facial muscle twitching, winking and squinting.

At first, she only thought that the boy's joking around should only scold. When she gets angry, she hits her because she is afraid that this will become a bad habit later. However, these habits on my face still happen.

Then she started to worry about her expressions. She took her to the hospital for examination at Children's Hospital 1, a neurology specialist. The doctor concludes that the child has a TIC disorder (also known as a jerk - PV). The cause may be due to too much contact with the phone.

According to the doctor, there are cases where the baby will take the medicine will run out but also the baby will end up going back and forth, even the baby will permanently wink and squint like that.

According to the general recommendation from the American Pediatrics Council on the time to sit in front of a television screen, the child's phone is:

- Children under 18 months of age: 0 hours

- Children over 18 months old - 2 hours: Can let children watch children's programs on television such as animation, gifted competitions, teaching collage, painting . However, this time, to Children exposed to the outside world are still at the top priority.

- Children from 2 years old - 5 years old: maximum 1 hour per day.

- For older children and adolescents: Parents need to set up a fixed "timetable" for children, ensuring their daily living, sleeping and vacation time is not reduced.
