Tips for preserving fresh vegetables longer

Plug 3 toothpicks into the cabbage stalks so they stay fresh longer

Interestingly, this trick is extremely simple, all you need is only 3 toothpicks that plug into the stalk of cabbage and lettuce plants (as shown in the illustration).

The important thing here is that you need to plug them deeply, preferably using a heavy object such as a knife handle or a small spoon to tap them into the body of the preserved vegetable.

According to the housewives' experience, this tip can help cabbage or lettuce to stay fresh without wilting for 1 week. Due to keeping freshness, nutrients in vegetables are better preserved.

Put a tissue in the balloon bag to absorb moisture

Another way lately has been used by the women or the other ear is to wrap the salad with a paper towel and put it into a plastic bag, squeeze out all the steam, tie the mouth of the bag.

The result after 7 days in the refrigerator is that the tissue is wet but not soggy and there is no condensation inside the bag. However, there are still viscous and ragged leaves in the bag.

Boxes and tissues

In this method, vegetables are stored in a sealed plastic container with a pre-lined layer of paper towels inside. After putting the vegetables in, the top is covered with another layer of paper towels. Finally close the lid of the box.

Why is this method effective? Similar to the above method, tissues help absorb moisture from green vegetables. The box protects the leaves from being bumped or crushed by food items stored around.

As described in how to do 1, after 5 days, the vegetables still keep the green color, not withered or bruised. After 7 days, some leaves may have withered, but are still edible. After 10 days, you will see some leaves are waterlogged, but most likely still fresh and edible.
