1. Eggs
During the microwave's heating process, the liquid side reaches high pressure without a vapor outlet, like a miniature pressure cooker, to the extent that the egg can explode. Even more frightening, the eggs will not break in the microwave while it is heated, but then, it can explode on hands, on plates or even in your mouth.
2. Green vegetables
If you want to cook celery, kale or spinach, heat them up in a regular oven instead of a microwave oven. When in a microwave oven, natural nitrates (great for you) can turn into carcinogens.
3. Water
You should not boil water in the microwave. When you take water from the microwave, it is also when the bubbles form, it is easy to fire at people who cause burns.
4. Foods that have been fried heavily
All oils can only tolerate a certain amount of heat. If this limit is exceeded, they will produce gas and toxins known as free radicals. We all know that free radicals are the cause of many diseases, including cancer. Therefore, avoid reheating foods that are high in oil. The microwave can burn oil again when it gets too hot.
5. Canned meat
Canned meat usually contains chemicals and preservatives to extend shelf life. These substances, if heated in a microwave oven, promote oxidation of cholesterol in ready-to-eat foods, causing cardiovascular diseases.
6. Rice
There are many high-resistant bacteria called Bacillus cereus in rice - producing toxins that cause vomiting and diarrhea. Some studies have demonstrated that when cooking rice in a microwave heated continuously and to keep it at room temperature, Bacillus cereus can multiply and cause food poisoning.
To avoid contaminated rice, cook it in the usual way, use an electric rice cooker or boil it and reduce the heat, maintaining warmness until it is ripe.
7. Food in bags
Food hit in plastic bags, paper bags and newspaper are not allowed in the microwave. Under the effect of high temperatures, they can produce toxic gases, release harmful additives that are available, infect food and harm you.
Besides, at high temperatures may cause paper bags to burn. In the unlikely event of a fire in the oven, absolutely do not open the microwave door, but must disconnect the power first, then open the door.
8. Bread
The microwave makes the bread hard and becomes very difficult to swallow. It's best to put bread in the oven.
9. Breast milk
Many mothers freeze and store milk for convenience. The microwave cannot warm the bottle evenly, making it easy to create hot spots that burn the mouth and throat. Warmed milk bottles are also a cause of cancer risk. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends heating breastmilk and formula on the stove or using hot tap water.
10. Fruit
Do not put fruits in the microwave, especially grapes - whether fresh or dry - because grapes will explode in the microwave and will release a lot of plasma gas to damage the oven.
