Doctor Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Department of Nutrition - Moderate Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that the habit of eating salty, supplementing kinds of high sodium content such as fish sauce, soy sauce, soy sauce, seasoning seeds, even sodium monosodium glutamate also increases the risk of stomach cancer, cardiovascular disease such as heart failure, kidney failure .

Nhan said that the need for salt and seasoning seeds is only 1 teaspoon a day. If you add fish sauce and seasoning, remove salt. Everyone should give up the habit of eating sauce. If dotted, dilute the dipping sauce with cool boiled water or little dots. When eating fruit, abandon the habit of salting.

To reduce salt intake, Nhan also advised people to limit processed foods such as sausages, sausages, hams, instant noodles . Because they contain a lot of salt.

Your body needs water to dissolve the salt, so when using too much salt, your body will hold more water. This can affect blood flow in the body and for a long time, blood pressure may increase.

Gastric and duodenal ulcers

When you consume a lot of salt, the bacteria that cause gastric and duodenal ulcers like H.pylori will also increase. This type of bacteria is found in many people, even those who have no symptoms. And they are also the cause of 80-90% of gastric or duodenal ulcers in the body.

High salt intake may be related to stomach cancer. Therefore, you should limit the use of salt-rich foods such as pickled salted tomato, salted fish, shrimp paste, smoked meats, prepared foods in daily meals.

Stroke

This condition, if prolonged for a long time, will cause left ventricular heart enlargement and lead to heart failure. Some ways to control salt intake

- You do not need to add salt to salads and juices because all fruits and vegetables contain sodium in their natural form.

- Limit your intake of pickles and sauces.

- If you can not eat fresh, reluctant food, you must use processed and canned foods because they contain a very large amount of salt.

- While cooking, you can substitute salt with herbs, spices, fruit juices and lemon juice combined with olive oil to enhance the flavor of the dish.

- Every day the necessary amount of salt for an adult is 4.2 g on average, at least 1.5 g. Children will need less salt.
