Causes asthma
The inhalation of secondhand smoke seriously affects young children. Children breathe passive smoke or wheeze and get long if they have a cold. In addition, passive smoking also causes other symptoms including nasal congestion, headache, sore throat, eye irritation and hoarseness. Especially children with asthma are extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke, because cigarette smoke can cause more asthma attacks, leading to a very serious condition.
Sudden death syndrome in newborns
The syndrome of sudden death of babies is also known as death while sleeping, which is defined as the sudden death of young children without evidence of any fetal illness when autopsy.
Sudden death rates in children exposed to tobacco during fetal processes are 1.4 to 8.5 times higher than that of other children.
Acute respiratory infection
Acute respiratory inflammation is the most common acute disease in childhood. Acute respiratory diseases can be divided into diseases related to upper respiratory tract and lower respiratory tract (laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia).
Second-hand smoke penetrates into the airways and alveoli of the lungs, which can cause acute respiratory disease and worsen the disease by increasing edema and inflammation of the lungs.
